Dogecoin 1.7 ===================== * Copyright (c) 2009-2014 Bitcoin Developers * Copyright (c) 2011-2013 Litecoin Developers * Copyright (c) 2013-2014 Dogecoin Developers Setup --------------------- [Dogecoin Core](http://dogecoin.com/en/download) is the original Dogecoin client and it builds the backbone of the network. However, it downloads and stores the entire history of Dogecoin transactions (which is currently several GBs); depending on the speed of your computer and network connection, the synchronization process can take anywhere from a few hours to a day or more. Thankfully you only have to do this once. Running --------------------- The following are some helpful notes on how to run Dogecoin on your native platform. ### Unix You need the Qt4 run-time libraries to run Dogecoin-Qt. On Debian or Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install libqtgui4 Unpack the files into a directory and run: - bin/32/dogecoin-qt (GUI, 32-bit) or bin/32/dogecoind (headless, 32-bit) - bin/64/dogecoin-qt (GUI, 64-bit) or bin/64/dogecoind (headless, 64-bit) ### Windows Unpack the files into a directory, and then run dogecoin-qt.exe. ### OSX Drag Dogecoin-Qt to your applications folder, and then run Dogecoin-Qt. ### Need Help? * See the documentation at the [Dogecoin Wiki](http://dogeco.in/) for help and more information. * Ask for help on [#dogecoin](http://webchat.freenode.net?channels=dogecoin) on Freenode.
