To scroll you have to set the keybinds in the menu. The overlay can be removed by installing Tinkers Construct or by disableing the soul stone hearts in the config.

The keybinds are from Lucraft. I think you can also try to scroll, while holding shift, it should also work

I know Im late but if you also use the mod mantle instead of having rows upon rows of hearts it will stack your hearts into one row and just use multiple colors to show.
