Wladimir J. van der Laan 6275123ce9 doc: Update build-openbsd for 0.13.0+ and OpenBSD 5.9
- Python 3 now supported.

- Bump boost version to 1.61 - one boost patch no longer needed.

- All checked with OpenBSD 5.9, except for the clang part, I left this
  as-is for someone adventurous.

- Mention overriding resource limits, OpenBSD's default ulimit does not
suffice for building Bitcoin Core with gcc 4.9.3.

Bitcoin Core 0.13.99

Setup

Bitcoin Core is the original Bitcoin client and it builds the backbone of the network. However, it downloads and stores the entire history of Bitcoin transactions (which is currently several GBs); depending on the speed of your computer and network connection, the synchronization process can take anywhere from a few hours to a day or more.

Running

The following are some helpful notes on how to run Bitcoin on your native platform.

Unix

Unpack the files into a directory and run:

  • bin/bitcoin-qt (GUI) or
  • bin/bitcoind (headless)

Windows

Unpack the files into a directory, and then run bitcoin-qt.exe.

OS X

Drag Bitcoin-Core to your applications folder, and then run Bitcoin-Core.
